Rongai Pride
Lion pride in Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya. Also known as: bufalo hunters.
The Rongai Pride is a mid-to-large pride occupying the northeastern Rongai sector of the Masai Mara, centered around open plains and seasonal drainage lines. It consists of a stable matriline of lionesses. Their territory functions as a transition zone between resident prey areas and migration corridors, causing seasonal range shifts. Hunting is primarily focused on zebra and wildebeest in open savannah terrain.
