Chichele males
Male lion coalition in South Luangwa National Park, Zambia.
The Chichele Males are one of the most formidable lion coalitions in the southern region of South Luangwa National Park. This powerful coalition consists of three brothers that took control of the area in 2022. Their territory stretches from the Chichele Hills to the Manzi River, where they dominate both the Chichele Pride and the Manzi Pride. Their strength and unity have allowed them to maintain control over one of the park's most productive lion territories. Now in their prime at around 8 years of age, the Chichele Males are renowned for their power, confidence, and territorial dominance. They are frequently seen around an area known as Palm Trees, where their thunderous roars often echo across the landscape, announcing their presence to rivals and reinforcing their claim over the territory. The Chichele Males remain one of the most impressive and dominant lion coalitions in South Luangwa National Park
